Evelyn Louise Bannwart August 29, 1921-December 10, 2014 Mrs. Evelyn Louise Bannwart, 93, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Wednesday December 10, 2014 at Miller's Health and Rehab in LaPorte, IN. She was born August 29, 1921 in Lowell, Indiana, the daughter of Walter Schilling and Florence (Barnes) Schilling. Evelyn had retired from American Home Foods and also had worked for the Washington Park Zoo. She was an active member of the Springville Community Church, and the Women's Missionary Society. On December 24, 1948, in LaPorte, IN, she married Russell Bannwart who preceded her in death July 11, 1988. Her first marriage was on October 25, 1941 in Crown Point, IN to Earl W. Burns, who preceded her on July 24, 1945. She is survived by her two daughters, LaCinda (Robert) Browning of La Porte, IN, Dawn (Wayne) Johnson of La Porte, IN; four grandchildren, Courtney (Gregg) Salyers, Heather (Brett) Kessler, Bryan Johnson, Steven Johnson; six great-grandchildren, Emerson Salyers, Benjamin Salyers, Noah Salyers, Blake Kessler, Brady Kessler, Brock Kessler. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell Bannwart, first husband, Earl W. Burns, two sisters, and one brother. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday, December 11, 2014, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Friday, December 12, 2014, from 9:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday December 12, 2014 at 10:00 am with Rev. Luke Bedtelyon. officiating. Interment will follow at the Springville Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springville Community Church .
