Eugene Machota

Mr. Eugene F. Machota, age 70, of Rolling Prairie, Ind., died 3:30 PM Sunday, April 6, 2008, at St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City, Ind. He was born August 29, 1937 in East Chicago, Ind. to the late Walter Machota and the late Lotti Janicki Machota. He has lived in the Rolling Prairie area for 39 years coming from Chicago, Ill. Mr. Machota was the Owner /operator of Beige Sewer and Septic Service for 18 years and retired in 2007. He loved listening to Blues music, was an avid reader, and enjoyed working in the yard. He enjoyed traveling to the Western States. He was a member of the Sierra Club, and was a strong advocate for the environment. On December 27, 1969 in Chicago, Ill. he married Judy Snipes who survives. He is also survived by his Two Sons, Michael Lisa Holmes Machota of La Porte, Ind., Andrew Machota of Carmel, Ind.; One Sister, Pat Meder of Lombard, Ill.; and One Brother, Ed Machota of Michigan City, Ind. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 9, 2008 and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Thursday Funeral service will be at St. John Kanty Catholic Church at 10:30 AM Thursday, April 10, 2008.
