Ethel Long

Mrs. Ethel M. Long , 84, of La Porte, Indiana, died Monday April 13, 2009 at La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. She was born June 6, 1924 in Hickory Flat, Mississippi, the daughter of Eddie Brownlee and Jessie L. New Brownlee. She has lived in the LaPorte area since 1974 coming from Kansas City, MO. Ethel was as a homemaker. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Ethel enjoyed puzzle books, playing solitare and she enjoyed spending time with her family. On January 17, 1942, in Truman, Arkansas, she married Raymond E. Long who preceded in death October 24, 2002. She is survived by her son, Eddie T. Pat McMunn of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Clessie James Kasinger of La Porte, IN; step-sons, Raymond A. Long of LaPorte, IN, Dennis Margaret Long of LaPorte, IN; Fifteen Grandchildren, Fifteen Great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Barrett of Harrisburg, AR; brother, Lee R. Brownlee of Aurora, MO; Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Raymond E. Long, Edward McMunn, John Jewell; son Raymond D. Long; daughter, Jeanetta Grimm, Three Brothers, and One Sister. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday April 16, 2009 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Jack M. Cox officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
