Ethel Bartleson

Ms. Ethel M. Bartleson, age 91, of New Carlisle, Ind., died 2:57 AM Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Hamilton Communities in New Carlisle, Ind. She was born October 31, 1916 in La Crosse, Ind. to the late Jacob Conrad and the late May Handley Conrad. She was a resident of San Francisco for several years she moved to Chicago, IL. where she resided for over 20 years and then moved back to the LaPorte area after her retirement in 1983. Ms. Bartleson was graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1934. She was employed by Studebaker for several years in the communications department, she joined the US Navy Waves during WW II, working in San Francisco, CA and worked in Navel Communications. She then moved to Chicago, IL. and worked for Allen baking Co. as a secretary and retired in 1983. She is survived by her Sister, Mrs. Grace J. Conrad Lee of La Porte, Ind. and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and Two Brothers, Jake W. Conrad and Roy Conrad. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM Monday, February 25, 2008. Graveside service will be at Pine Lake Cemetery at 1:00 PM Monday, February 25, 2008, Rev. Dan McDonald officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
