Esther B. Martin December 30, 1918-May 14, 2013 Mrs. Esther B. Martin, 94, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Tuesday May 14, 2013 at Miller's Merry Manor in Plymouth, IN. She was born December 30, 1918 in New Buffalo Twp., Michigan, the daughter of Wheeler Meyers and Iva (Barnes) Meyers. She was a member of Lambs Chapel United Methodist Church. Esther enjoyed sewing. On May 20, 1939, in LaPorte, IN, she married Merle Martin who preceded her in death February 10, 2006. She is survived by her son - James (Doris) Martin of Plymouth, IN; 2 daughters - Judith A. Swanson of New Carlisle, IN, Nancy (Larry) Huge of Liberty, SC; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchildren; 4 sisters - Eleanor Benford of Michigan City, IN, Nina Firebaugh of La Porte, IN, Irma Freeman of Sheffield, AL, Betty Swanson of La Porte, IN. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Randy, 2 brothers, Donald Meyers, Maurice Meyers, and 2 sisters,Carol Waak and Ruth Conklin. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, May 17, 2013 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am CST. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday May 17, 2013 at 11:00 am CST. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana.
