Ermabelle Thorndyke

Mrs. Ermabelle Thorndyke, 87, of New Port Richey, Florida, died Monday June 22, 2009 at her home. She has lived in New Port Richey for the last 3 years coming from LaPorte. She was born February 28, 1922 in Rossville, Indiana, the daughter of George Butler and Laura Cripe Butler. Ermabelle was the owner and operator of Ermabelle's Beauty Shop for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Naomi Circle of the Church, LaPorte Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, People to People and LaPorte Hairdressers. On February 21, 1940, in LaPorte, IN, she married Theodore A. Thorndyke who preceded in death October 29, 1992. She is survived by her daughter Rita L. Morrical of New Port Richey, FL; a granddaughter Arielle and a grandson Phillip. Ermabelle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, five brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, June 26, 2009 9:00 am - 11:00 am. LaPorte Chapter, Order of the Easter Star will conduct a service at 10:30 AM Friday. Funeral services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday June 26, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Mr. Roger Singleton officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
