Eric Toledo, 27, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN.

He was born January 17, 1996 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Maria Toledo.

Born and raised in Chicago, Eric graduated from John Hope High School in 2014. Following graduation, he moved to South Bend, IN where he worked as a warehouse worker for the local FedEx. Outside of work, Eric was a family man. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family; especially his nephews Zaire and Julius. Most of all, Eric loved hitting the trails and taking long walks with his dog Cochina. Eric found joy in playing basketball and hanging with friends in his free time. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan; always sure to make it known to his step-father (an avid White Sox fan). Eric was known for his goofy personality and for always bringing a smile to peoples' faces. He is loved and will be missed by many.

He is also survived by his step-father, Jaime (Maria) Reyes of South Bend, IN; brother, Ramio Orosco of South Bend, IN; two sisters, Selena Toledo of South Bend, IN, and Cristina Toledo of South Bend, IN; two nephews, Zaire Hicks, and Julius Hicks; and his beloved dog, Cochina.

Eric was preceded in death by his nephew, Xavier Orta.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, August 6, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monday August 7, 2023 at 10:00 am with Father Nate Edquist officiating conducting the mass in Spanish. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Polish Cemetery in South Bend, IN.
