Emily Meyers

Mrs. Emily J. Meyers, age 85, of Woodstock, IL, formerly of La Porte, Ind., died 10:30 PM Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Hospice Center of North East Illinois in Woodstock, Ill. She was born August 10, 1922 in South Bend Ind. to the late William Shoemaker and the late Lucy Lang Shoemaker. Mrs. Meyers was employed by Star Girl and worked at several locations, the last 8 years she work at Howmet Corp. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary of LaPorte, Center Twp. Homemakers Club. On February 1, 1944 she married Donald E. Meyers who preceded in death February 11, 1978. She is survived by her Four Sons, Mr. Daniel Karen Meyers of La Porte, Ind., Mr. Brian Robin Meyers of Woodstock, Ill., Mr. Norman Sharon Meyers of La Porte, Ind., Mr. Allen Gail Meyers of Tampa, Fla.; Five grandchildren, Steve Meyers, Mat Meyers, Stacie Sai, Emily Meyers, Dean Meyers; Three Step Grandchildren Elizabeth Werner, Kelsi Werner, Ben Werner; Two great-grandchildren; Two Step Great-grandchildren; and One Sister, Mrs. Wilma Jean Smith of Three Oaks, Mich. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 4, 2008 and from 9:00 AM Thursday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 5, 2008. Interment will be at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
