Elsie M. Swan May 23, 1926-October 21, 2014 Mrs. Elsie M. Swan, 88, of Elgin, Illinois, died Tuesday October 21, 2014 at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, IL. She was born May 23, 1926 in Yorkville, Illinois, the daughter of Fred Dean and Elsie (Howell) Dean. Elsie had worked 30 years, as a secretary for Whirlpool Corp. She is survived by her two sons, Jerry (Valerie) Swan of Elgin, IL, Larry (Denise) Swan of La Porte, IN; eight grandchildren, Kelly Daisy, Mark Swan, Chuck Swan, Steve Swan, Scott Swan, Valerie Swan, Grant Swan, and Britttney Swan; four great-grandchildren, Alicia Daisy, Mariah Sharp, Melanie Swan, and Kara Swan; two sisters, Frances Gilliham of AZ, and Carol Snyder of Rockford, IL. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Terry Swan, one brother, Fred Dean, one sister, Evelyn Rowe. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, November 15, 2014, from 2:00 pm, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday November 15, 2014 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Roger Ash, officiating. Cremation has taken place.
