Mrs. Ellen Emma Van Scoik Hundt, 92, of St. Charles, Illinois and formerly of Union Mills, IN, died Friday July 24, 2009 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL. She was born December 8, 1916 in Union Mills, Indiana, the daughter of Ralph R. VanScoik and Angie Reeves VanScoik. Ellen worked as a Bookkeeper for LaPorte Bank and Trust of Union Mills, IN for 17 years and retired in 1985. She was a life long member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church of Union Mills and she graduated from Union Mills High School in 1935. On January 30, 1937, in Union Mills, IN, she married Earl Hundt who preceded in death February 15, 1971. She is survived by her two sons Vernon Lenna Hundt of Geneva, IL, Gene Jennifer Hundt of Clearwater, FL; four grandsons Anthony Hundt, Brian Hundt, Nicholas Hundt, Bradley Hundt; and one great-granddaughter Cori Hundt. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Ella Clark. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, July 28, 2009 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Wednesday, July 29, 2009 9:00 am until time of the service at the church. Services will be held at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 110 Hamilton, Union Mills, IN., Wednesday July 29, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Rev. John Beehler officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Mills Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 155, Union Mills, IN. 46382.
