Elizabeth Day

The funeral for Mrs. Elizabeth D. Day, 79, of 608 Rockwood St., LaPorte, will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Kenneth Whiles officiating. She died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at 12:57 a.m. LaPorte County time at Lake View Community Hospital, Paw Paw, Mich. Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte. Memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House of Indiana, 435 Limestone, Indianapolis, IN 46202-2189. She was born July 30, 1925, in LaPorte to Gilbert and Maude M. Hana Goodson, and had lived all her life in the LaPorte area. Mrs. Day retired from Hedwin Corporation as an assembler. On Sept. 5, 1942, in LaPorte, she married Fred Day, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Beckie Mike Moore of Three Oaks, Mich., and Judy Herschel Jones of Knox; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Fran Corsbie of LaPorte; and one brother, Leo Losey of LaPorte.
