Elaine Suzanne Cole, 82, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at Northwest Health-La Porte.

She was born September 22, 1941 in Springville Township, Indiana, the daughter of George Wroblewski and Susann (Mark) Wroblewski.

A lifelong resident of the area, Elaine was a baptized and confirmed catholic who attended St. Peters Catholic Church in La Porte and graduated from La Porte High School, class of 1960. On January 25, 1964, at St Mary's of the Lake in New Buffalo, MI, she married the love of her life, Thomas Cole, who survives. Elaine managed the household and all that that entails.  She had a large garden, both flowers and vegetables, which she loved. She grew her own rhubarb and made a fabulous rhubarb sauce, which her husband adored. Elaine was an avid walker, walking the Kesling Trail daily. She loved to bake fudge and her Swiss Steak was simply the best. Elaine's greatest passion was her family, especially her grandchildren, and she will be dearly missed.

Along with her husband of 59 years, Thomas Sr., Elaine is survived by her two sons, Thomas Cole, Jr. of La Porte, IN, Robert Cole of La Porte, IN; brother, George Thomas (Vera) Wroblewski of Springville, IN and FL; sister, Mary Lou Haverstock of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, Jacob Robert Cole of Chicago, Kristen Mary Cole of South Bend, IN and several nieces and nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edward J. Wroblewski and sister, Suzanne Wroblewski.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., followed by a Catholic funeral service with Holy Family Parish, officiating.  Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana.
