Eileen White

Mrs. Eileen A. White, 87, formerly of LaPorte, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital & Health Centers in Greenwood, IN. She was born Jan. 16, 1917 in LaPorte, IN to John R. and Cecil Kathryn McGarity Zarr Sr. Mrs. White worked as a clerk at Allis Chalmers Corp. for 8 years, retiring in 1959. On May 7, 1937 in LaPorte, IN she married Thomas McKie, who preceded her in death on July 30, 1952. On September 20, 1957 in LaPorte, IN, she married Loren "Ollie" White, who preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1981. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one son, Willard Sietz,; two brothers, John Robert Zarr Jr., and Ward Junior Tibbs; two sisters, Rose Ann Tibbs, and Mary Osborn. Surviving her is a daughter, Barbara Howard of Greenwood, IN, three sisters, Betty Gropp of LaPorte, IN, Dorothy Wooten of West Lafayette, IN, and Shirley Heminger of Hudson Lake, IN. Also surviving her are four brothers, Vernon Gaw of Springfield, IN, Wilber Zarr of Wisconsin, Floyd Tibbs of Mill Creek, IN and Edward Tibbs of Knox, IN. The funeral will be Thurs. Feb. 18, 2004 at 1:00 p.m., at the Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, IN., where also a Eastern Star service will be conducted at 12:50 p.m.. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
