Edward Myricks

Edward Myricks August 9, 1939-October 9, 2017 Edward Myricks, 78, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday October 9, 2017 at his home in La Porte, IN. He was born August 9, 1939 in Burmingham, Alabama, the son of Jessie Edward Myricks and Rosa (Tinsley) Myricks. Edward was a retired LaPorte County Police Officer and was a security officer at St. Anthony's and Memorial Hospital in Michigan City, Indiana. He loved sports. On February 18, 2000, in La Porte, IN, he married Robin (Reeves) Myricks who survives. He is also survived by his two sons, Edward Myricks, Jr. of Gary, IN, Kenji Jones of CO; step-daughter, Angela Friday of Niles, MI; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, sister, Dorothy Jean Gordon of AL. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Kirk Myricks and Keith Myricks; seven brothers and sisters. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Saturday, October 21, 2017, from 9:30 am - until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday October 21, 2017 at 10:30 am with Pastor Eddie Heavner, officiating.
