Edith Loomis

Mrs. Edith L. Loomis, 89, of 1900 Andrew Ave., LaPorte, Indiana passed away Tuesday August 24, 2004. She lived in the LaPorte area for most of her life. Born September 11, 1914 in Calvin, Illinois to William and Oleva Douglas Brothers. On March 10, 1937 in Mishawaka, Indiana she married Norman L. Loomis who preceded on June 17, 2002. Mrs. Loomis was a homemaker and a member of Door Village United Methodist Church. Surviving are one daughter; Norma Andy Hiatt of LaPorte, Indiana, three sons; Dr. William H. Jane Loomis of Milford, Ohio, James Dean Karen Loomis of Powder Springs, Georgia, Robert Judy Loomis of Midland, Michigan, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Edith was preceded by her parents, husband, four sisters and one brother. A private family will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home with Pastor John Vincent officiating. Burial will be the Door Village Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Door Village United Methodist Church, Fountain View Terrace Nursing Home and Harbor Light Hospice.
