Earnest Buchanan

Mr. Earnest Buchanan, 86, of 274 Hadley Road Kingsford Heights, Indiana died Saturday, April 2, 2005 in LaPorte Hospital. He was born July 27, 1918 in Houston, MS, to Clifford and Grace Buchanan, who has proceeded. Also preceded in death is a son, Mr. John D. Buchanan, three brothers, Mr. Dock Buchanan, Mr. John B. Buchanan, Mr. Henry Buchanan, a sister, Lois Buchanan, and a grandson, Yancy Browder. Mr. Buchanan has lived in the LaPorte area since 1946. Mr. Buchanan was founder/owner, operator for All Phase Lockshop/locksmith, for 30 years; also he worked at Teledyne, as a crane operator, and worked at KOP. Mr. Buchanan was a Veteran of the US Army during WWII, he was affiliated with AAA as a locksmith, National locksmith Association, and he enjoyed working, especially the locksmithing. He was a charter member of the American Legion Kingsford Heights Post # 343. Surviving, is a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Jerry Hunt of Kingsford Heights, IN, a son Mr. Joe L. Lulu Cooper of Goodyear, AZ, three daughters, Mrs. Nettie S.M. Jackson of LaPorte, IN, Mrs. Earnestine Dave Goldstien of La Habra Heights, CA, Sharon Buchanan of Houston, MS, and a brother, Mr. Robert Ethel Buchanan of Chicago, IL. Mr. Buchanan has 26 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. The Funeral will be on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Haverstock Funeral Home, Friends may call on Friday, April 8, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and on Saturday, April 9, 2005 from 9:00 AM until time of service, at Haverstock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Military Honors will be conducted by the Kingsford Heights American Legion Post #343. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Donor?s choice.
