Earl Eskridge

Mr. Earl M. "Bud" Eskridge, age 79, of La Porte, Ind., died 4:20 AM Friday, October 13, 2006, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born November 27, 1926 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late James Eskridge and the late Grace Lightner Eskridge. He has lived in the LaPorte area all of his life. Mr. Eskridge was employed by Preston Trucking of South Bend, Ind. and was a very active member of First Christian Church of LaPorte. He was a trustee of the church and involved with different committees. Mr. Eskridge was always willing to help everyone. He took care of his wife and was her best friend, he was loved by everyone he came in contact with, and he loved people. He was a Veteran of US Army during WW II. On July 18, 1948 in LaPorte, Ind he married Evadene Fletcher who survives. He is also survived by his Daughter, Mrs. April Bruce Smith of Rolling Prairie, Ind.; Five grandchildren, Renee Keith Long, Randy Eskridge, Shaina Smith, Roland Nicholas Smith, Adam Monroe Smith, and Four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and Two Sons, Rodney Nicholas Eskridge and Earl Monroe Eskridge Jr. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, October 15, 2006 and 9:00 AM Monday until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Monday, October 16, 2006, Rev. Rick Abbott officiating. Interment will be at Patton Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #83 and VFW Post #1130 of LaPorte.
