Drew Popplewell

Drew Austin Popplewell, 9, of Union Mills, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at 2 a.m. at his home. He was born June 20, 1995, in LaPorte to Roger Jr. and Shawn Brust Popplewell, and had lived all his life in the area. Drew was an avid reader and loved to learn about everything, especially science, rocks and nature. He was active in sports, playing baseball, basketball and soccer and being a Cub Scout. In his short time on earth, he created a lifetime of memories, was wise beyond his years and will be greatly missed. Surviving are his parents, of Union Mills; one sister, Riley of Union Mills; one brother, Brant of Union Mills; and his grandparents, Larry and Margo Brust of Union Mills and Judy Popplewell and Roger Popplewell Sr., both of La-Porte. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. John Beehler officiating. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with a special viewing for school friends from 3 to 4 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Union Mills Cemetery.
