Dorothy Irene Miller December 4, 1935-May 27, 2019 Dorothy Irene Miller, 83, of La Porte, IN, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 at Aperion Care Arbors in Michigan City, Indiana. She was born December 4, 1935 in Frankfort, Indiana, the daughter of Tony L. Galey and Opal B. (Goodnight) Galey. Dorothy retired in 2002 after working twenty-eight years for Howmet in La Porte. She was a member of the Salvation Army in La Porte, holding many positions and callings at the church over the years. Dorothy also enjoyed singing gospel hymns and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. On January 23, 1955, in Linton, Indiana, she married Charles Miller who preceded in death on December 23, 1993. She is survived by her son, John W. Miller of La Porte, IN; daughter, Coni H. Miller of La Porte, IN; six grandchildren, Missy, William, Brianna, Brittney, Alex, Robert; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Charlee, Kayden, Sasha, Mary, Lonnie, London, Lyrca; two sister-in-laws, Gertrude Griffin and Marilyn Ivey both of La Porte. Dorothy was preceded in death by both her parents, two brothers, William F. Galey, John L. Galey; three sisters, Joan B. Rahdall, Mary N. Robertson, Barbara S. Keever. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Indiana.
