Dorothy Masek

Dorothy M. Masek June 22, 1921-August 28, 2016 Dorothy M. Masek age 95, peacefully passed away at the Alamo Nursing Home in Kalamazoo, MI on Sunday, August 28, 2016. She is survived by her son, Ronald (Arlene) Masek; daughter in law, Tammy Masek; grandchildren, Stefanie (Jacob) Blockland, Dennis (fiance Courtney Enochs) Masek, David (Alex) Masek and Jason Masek. Preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Masek; son, Dennis Masek and brother, Maurice Reed. Dorothy was born on June 22, 1921 to Joseph and Mable Reed in Westville, IN and was a 1939 graduate of Westville High School. On October 4, 1947 in La Porte, IN, she married Harvey Masek. She was an active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in La Porte and involved in the Scipio Twp. Homemakers. Dorothy devoted her life to being a homemaker and enjoyed baking, crocheting and cross stitching. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Haverstock Funeral Home 602 Maple Avenue La Porte, IN with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick officiating. Interment to follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
