Dorothy Krout

Dorothy I. Krout, 82, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Tuesday August 17, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana She was born September 13, 1927 in Francesville, Indiana, the daughter of Clarence Miller and Amy Krout Miller. Dorothy was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing, bingo and loved gardening. Dorothy was a people person and loved spending time with her family and friends. On December 24, 1968, in La Porte, IN, she married Jean Edward Krout who preceded her in death in 1986. She is survived by her five daughters - Geraldine Hough of CO, Theresa George Wilson of La Porte, IN, Vanessa Rick Allen of Kingsford Heights, IN, Mary Krout of La Porte, IN, Katerina James Bradbury of La Porte, IN; four sons - Ronald Kuta of Kingsford Heights, IN, Eugene Krout of La Porte, IN, Ajah Krout of La Porte, IN, Charles Krout of La Porte, IN; son-in-law - Elmer Steven; thirty-five grandchildren; sixty-one great grandchildren; eighteen great great grandchildren; three sisters - Arlene Tarr of La Porte, IN, Marlene Zelasko of New Carlisle, IN, Rose Mansfield of NY. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, four sons, daughter, Judy Stevens, and four grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Monday, August 23, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 9:00 am, until services. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday August 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Richard Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
