Dorothy Diane Graham May 30, 1943-August 23, 2016 Dorothy Diane Graham, age 73, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 with her loving husband by her side. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dwight Graham; daughter, Kimberly Graham; grandchildren, Sarah and Shawn; several nieces and nephews and her faithful canine companion, Baxter. Preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Frances Harold; son, Scott David Graham; 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Diane was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and embroidering. She loved to travel and enjoyed many adventures around the world with her family. Diane was very active in her community, participating in the Lansing, IL Junior Women's Club and LaPorte Service League, where she particularly enjoyed working on the Children's Service League plays and running bingo for the local nursing homes. She served God and her community through the First United Methodist Church in LaPorte, IN. She served as a board member on the United Methodist Women group, helped prepare food each month for the LaPorte Salvation Army, delivered Meals on Wheels, and participated in several mission trips. For many years she was active in the Lake Central Band Boosters Club running the concession stand at home football games and organizing weekly bingo fundraisers. Not only was she passionate about her own children and grandchildren, she worked as a substitute teacher and remedial aide in the LaPorte Community Schools. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:30 AM at First United Methodist Church of La Porte, 1225 Michigan Avenue, La Porte, IN with Pastors Evan Lash and Bob Vale officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the church parlor from 10:00 AM until time of service.
