Mrs. Dorothy Freel, 89, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Monday February 2, 2009 at Covenant Village of the Great Lakes in Grand Rapids, MI. She was born January 10, 1920 in Marshall Co., Indiana, the daughter of Ida Haag, Dorothy lived in the LaPorte, area all of her life. She was loved and raised by, Step-parents; Victor and Grace Rensberger. Dorothy worked as a timekeeper at Allis-Chalmers for thirty-years, retiring January of 1982, she was a member of Church of the Brethren and the Pinola Grange. On December 23, 1939, in LaPorte, Indiana, she married Ivan "Bill" W. Freel, who preceded her in death on September 1, 1995. She is survived by her son, Jim L. Sue Freel of Findlay, OH, daughter, Vicki S. Joe Frost of Grand Rapids, MI, sister, Virginia Gault of Rescue, VA, sister, Darlene Randy Boice of LaPorte, IN, Four Grandchildren, Ryan Roxanne Freel of Wilmette, IL, Melissa Jonathan Lange of Dublin, CA, Chad Mary Lyn Frost of Belmont, MI, Lisa Frost of Grand Rapids, MI, Five Great-grandchildren, Jack Freel of Wilmette, IL, J.J. Freel of Wilmette, IL, Ashton Freel of Wilmette, IL, Nathan Frost of Belmont, MI. and Micah Frost of Belmont, MI. Dorothy was preceded in death by three sisters, Freida Young, Delores Niendorf, Wanda Kinsey, her husbnad, mother, father and her step-parents. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dorothy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Door Village Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
