Dorothy Cook

Mrs. Dorothy Marie Cook, age 83, of LaPorte, Ind., died Friday, January 16, 2009, at her residence in La Porte, Ind. She was born on May 30, 1925 in LaPorte County, Indiana to the late Howard Kessler and the late Amelia Felton Kessler. Dorothy had lived all of her life in the LaPorte area. Mrs. Cook was a homemaker and was a member of First United Methodist Church of LaPorte and was a member of V.F.W. Auxilliary. On April 26, 1947 in LaPorte, Ind. she married Leo Cook, who preceded, December 14, 2002. She is survived by her ; Two Daughters, Donna M. Jack Sullivan of Jeffersonville, Ind. and Judy A. Pearce Harvey King of La Porte, Ind.; Three grandchildren, Angela Pearce of LaPorte, Ind,, Tammie Lancaster of Logansport, Ind. and Jordan King of LaPorte, Ind.; Two Sisters, Mary Cuson of Mill Creek, Ind., Shirley Peckham of LaPorte, Ind.; One Brother, Ed Kessler of LaPorte, Ind. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo Cook; Grandson, Mark Lancaster; Sister, Elsie Brown; Two Brothers, Howard "Jim" Kessler and Robert Kessler. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, January 18, 2009 and from 12:00 PM Monday, January 19, 2009, until time of service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:30 PM Monday, January 19, 2009 with Rev. Dorothy Jones, officiating. Burial will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
