Dorothy Conley

Rev. Dorothy E. Conley, 94, of LaPorte, IN, passed away on Sunday April 3, 2011 at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte. She was born October 19, 1916 in Round County, Kentucky, the daughter of Edward E. Lewis and Lucy Ann (Coddle) Lewis. Dorothy came from West Virginia in 1965, lived in Rolling Prairie until 1996, moving to LaPorte. Dorothy had retired from Indiana Molding & Frame, working there for ten years. She was a member of Lighthouse Full Gospel Church, Dorothy was a pentecostal minister for 59 years. She loved sewing, quilting, and crocheting. Dorothy's family was her life. On June 23, 1933, in Madison, WV, she married John Conley who preceded in death October 31, 1996. She is survived by her five daughters - Jean Mills of La Porte, IN, Lucy McCoin of Red Springs, NC, Memory Conley of La Porte, IN, Jeanette Conley of La Porte, IN, Dorothy Conley of Andersonville, TN; three sons - Wesley (Sharon) Conley of Kingsbury, IN, James (Sue) Conley of Kingsbury, IN, John (Tammy) Conley of Bourbon, IN;and one-hundred twenty-nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Henry Conley, daughter, Doris Conley and three grandsons. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, April 8, 2011 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 12:00 pm, until time of services. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday April 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Barry Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
