Doris Thompson

Mrs. Doris Thompson, 81, of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday April 9, 2010 at her home. She was born June 6, 1928 in Paris, Illinois, the daughter of Walter O. Ward and Edith Marie Franklin Ward. Doris had lived in the LaPorte, area for seventy-five years, coming from Illinois. Doris worked as a housekeeper for Super 8 Motel in Michigan City, IN. On April 25, 1964, in LaPorte, IN, she married Sherman Thompson who preceded her in death January 16, 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Charles Doll of La Porte, IN, one step-daughter Debbie Larry Matlock of Owensboro, KY; two step-sons, Steve Thompson of Owensboro, KY, Michael Thompson of Owensboro, KY; two grandsons, Barry Bobbie Ames of Kingsbury, IN, Donald Comstock, Jr. of LaPorte, IN; five great-grandchildren, and one brother, Sonny Nettie Ward of Waynetown, IN; Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and a step-daughter, Sherlene Weeks. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. A private graveside service will be held at Kingsbury Cemetery, with Rev. Tim Williams, officiating.
