Donald Waldo

Mr. Donald R. Waldo, 78, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday August 22, 2009 at La Porte Hospital. He was born September 25, 1930 in Chesterton, Indiana, the son of Frank Waldo and Ruth Gallagher Waldo. Donald worked as an Electrician for I.B.E.W. Local 153, South Bend. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict and a member of the V.F.W. Post 83 of La Porte, IN. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and cooking. On April 8, 1967, in La Porte, IN., he married Judy Pearish Waldo who survives. He is also survived by 5 sons Dale Waldo of CA, Jerry Waldo of IL, Bob Denise Waldo of AZ, Brian Kim Waldo of Michigan City, Larry Pearish of La Porte; 4 daughters Priscilla John Knott of GA, Patricia Stephen Mott Waldo of La Porte, June Greg Stillwell of Fort Wayne, Joan Mark Stinson of Goshen, IN; 21 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 2 brothers William Waldo of AL, John Waldo of Michigan City; 2 sisters Ethel Shepperson and Janette Lane both of Michigan City. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son, Nathan Waldo. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Monday, August 24, 2009 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Tuesday, August 25, 2009 10:00 am until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Curtis Southwood officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana.
