Donald Proud

Mr. Donald R. Proud, age 74, of La Porte, Ind., died Monday, October 16, 2006, as the result of an auto accident in Chino Valley, Ariz. He was born August 9, 1932 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Lee Proud and the late Mildred Holtz Proud. He has lived in the LaPorte area most of his life coming from Goodland, Ind. Mr. Proud was employed as an Inventory Control Supervisor by Allis Chalmers Corp for 32 years He also worked at Schaffer Laundry and retired from Swank Laundry of South Bend, Ind. He Graduated from Goodland High School in Goodland, Ind. Mr. Proud was very patriotic and was interested in government issues. He was a Veteran of US Army. On Jan. 3, 1953 in LaPorte he married Nola Hunsley who preceded him in death on August 13, 2005. He is also survived by his Daughter, Mrs. Gayle Thomas Heise of La Porte, Ind., Two Sons, Mr. Glen Proud of La Porte, Ind, Mr. Brad Teresa Proud of Mill Creek, Ind.; Seven grandchildren Faye Proud, Kevin Proud Lindsey Proud, Matthew Proud, Amanda Heise, Zachery Heise, Zane Heise; Three Sisters, Mrs. Joyce Knox of Goodland, Ind., Mrs. Jean Wagner of Rocklin, Calif., Mrs. Jane Doperialski of Hudson Lake, Ind.; Two Brothers, Mr. David Proud of Fairoaks, Calif., and Mr. Gerald Proud of Homedale, Idaho. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Parents and Two Sisters. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, October 20, 2006 and Noon until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:30 PM Saturday, October 21, 2006, Rev. Wayne Morrison officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte, Ind.
