Donald E. Long February 22, 1937-June 8, 2015 Donald E. Long, 78, of Mill Creek, Indiana, died Monday June 8, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. He was born February 22, 1937 in Mill Creek, Indiana, the son of Raymond W. Long and Edith M. (Weedle) Long. Donald had worked for twenty-five for Teledyne Casting Service, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the North American Hunting Club, and Lincoln Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. for 20 years, also the Bass Federation, and the Mill Creek Community Lion's Club, he was a 10 year charter member. He was very active in supporting our troops. Donald had lived in the Mill Creek area all his life. On June 29, 1957, in Indiana, he married Phyllis (Perkins) Long who preceded in death on February 27, 1998. He is survived by his loving companion, Lucille Salzer of Mill Creek, IN; son, Kurtis (Meredith) Long of Fish Lake, IN; daughter, Cindy Wysocki of Linden, IN; five grandchildren, Cody Reeves, Carson Long, Allison Long, Sammy Long, and Brian (Jennifer) Wysocki and one great-grandchild, Eliah Wysocki; five brothers, Harold Long of Attica, IN, James Patrick (Wilma) Long of Fish Lake, IN, John (Audrey) Long of Fish Lake, IN, Larry (LuAnn) Long of Walkerton, IN, Francis (Kathy) Long of Westville, IN.; many nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sisters, Margaret Buckmaster, and Kathleen Grage, one brother, Terry Long. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday, June 11, 2015, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Friday, June 12, 2015, 9:00 am, until time of service A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday June 12, 2015 at 10:00 am with Rev. Michael Heimer officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana. A Lion's Club Service will be held Thursday evening, June 11, 2015 at 7:00 pm.
