Donald H. Kruger August 24, 1923-July 3, 2016 Mr. Donald H. Kruger, 92, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday July 3, 2016 at his home. He was born August 24, 1923 in San Pierre, Indiana, the son of Herman H. Kruger and Louise (Kottka) Kruger. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during W.W. II, a member of American Legion Post #83 of La Porte, IN. and former member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. On April 7, 1956, in San Pierre, IN, he married Mildred Morse Kruger who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Denise (David) Borkowski; son, William (Melissa) Kruger; three Grandchildren, Alicia, Dustin, Andrea; three Great Grandchildren, Connor, Mackenzie, Donald; Donald was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Thursday, July 7, 2016, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday July 7, 2016 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Victor Frohne officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, Indiana. The La Porte American Legion and V.F.W. Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors at the cemetery.
