Donald Charles Grimm November 22, 1931-April 19, 2018 Mr. Donald Charles Grimm, 86, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Thursday April 19, 2018 at his home. He was born November 22, 1931 in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Clarence H. Grimm and Margaret (Brune) Grimm. One of Don's proudest achievements was starting his business, Grimm Mold and Die,Co. which remains family owned and operated for over 50 years. Donald was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church and a former member of the First Christian Church of Rolling Prairie where he was a Historian, an Elder, and a Deacon of the Church. He was a former president and member of the Rolling Prairie Lions Club, He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. during the Korean War and a member of the VFW Post #9423, Charter Member and past president of the Rolling Prairie Business Association, Charter Member of Rolling Prairie Community Center, Member of Gleaners, and Delivered Meals on Wheels for 22+ years. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, dice, other games, and spending time with family and friends. On Dec. 31, 1955, in Chicago, IL, he married Nancy Novak Grimm who survives. He is also survived by his two daughters, Linda (Keith) Whicker of La Porte, IN, Diana (Mark) Riley of La Porte, IN; two sons, Andrew (Anna Wallis) Grimm of Michigan City, IN, Tim (Sheila) Grimm of Rolling Prairie, IN; ten Grandchildren, Coffy (Noel) Riley, Ian (Nicole) Riley, Jillian (Eric) Pointon, Joe (Haley) Whicker, Kenny Whicker, Kimberly (Raymond) Thompson, Jerry (Sandy) Grimm, Amanda (John) Thresh, Taylore Grimm, Morgan Grimm; eighteen great grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Joann) Grimm of Evansville, IN; sister-in-law, Irma Grimm of Evansville, IN, Donald was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert Grimm, Richard Grimm. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday April 22, 2018 from 2:00-6:00 PM . A Christian Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday April 23, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church with Rev Ian Williams officiating.
