Donald Danielson

Donald H. Danielson, 88, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away, Thursday September 9, 2010 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Michigan City. He was born September 9, 1922 in LaPorte, IN, the son of Harvey Danielson and Gertrude Organ Donoghue. Donald worked as a pipe fitter for forty years at US Steel in Gary, Indiana. He was a life-long member of Springville Free Methodist Church. Donald was very active in the church. He enjoyed gardening and keeping in touch with people by sending cards for all occasions. He is survived by his three nieces - Angela Peters, Laura Peters, Terri Adam Bennett; seven great nieces and great nephews, Natasha, Sarah Trey, Andrew, Jacoby, Tad, and Alexis; and two cousins Joanne Alger and Patricia Gault. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, step father, Rev. Paul Donoghue; sister, Lois Ann Donoghue, brother, Lynn Donoghue. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm and at the Springville Free Methodist Church on Monday, September 13 2010 from 9:00 am until time of service. Services will be held at Springville Free Methodist Church, Monday September 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. David Hill officiating. Interment will follow at the Springville Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springville Free Methodist Church LaPorte, IN 46350.
