Donald Colburn

Mr. Donald L. Colburn, age 70, of La Porte, IN., died Friday, July 22, 2005, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born October 16, 1934, in LaPorte, IN, to James Colburn and Erme Schoff Colburn, who has preceded. Also preceded in death is his wife, Mrs. Barbara Colburn, and a brother, Mr. Jack R. Colburn. Mr. Colburn lived all of his life in the LaPorte area. On June 11, 1955 in LaPorte, Indiana he married Barbara Stewart, who Preceded, on November 22, 1997. Mr. Colburn was employed by Whirlpool Corp. as a Material Control Expeditor for 31 years, retiring in 1993. and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed bowling, including a "300" game series in the Seniors League in 1995. Surviving is a Daughter, Mrs. Deborah George Wick of La Porte, IN, One Son, Mr. Chris Colburn of La Porte, IN, Five Sisters, Mrs. Eileen Dhein of Manitowoc, Wis. Mrs. Alberta Jon Levy of Astoria, Ore. Mrs. Marie White of Vancouver, Wash. Mrs. Marilyn DeWitt of La Porte, IN, -Mrs. Leatrice Carl Westphal of Michigan City, IN, One Brother, Mr. David Colburn of Wedgefield, S.C, Two grandchildren, Brian, and Jocelyn Colburn. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, July 25, 2005, and from 11:00 AM until time of service, July 26, 2005. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 26, 2005 . Interment will be at Patton Cemetery in LaPorte, IN. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Donor's Choice.
