Dolores F. Johnson July 22, 1923-March 19, 2015 Mrs. Dolores F. Johnson, 91, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away into the presence of her Lord on Thursday March 19, 2015 at Brentwood Assisted Living in LaPorte, IN. She was born July 22, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond Schleyer and Marie (Braun) Schleyer. Dolores was a faithful member of Faith Community Church in LaPorte, Indiana. She enjoyed quilting, oil painting, reading and Bible Study. Dolores was a loving mother and grandmother. On April 29, 1943, in Chicago, IL, she became the beloved wife of the late Richard Wilcox Johnson for 63 years, who preceded her in death October 19, 2004. She was a devoted mother to her children; Michael A. (Amy) Johnson of West Des Moines, IA, Kenneth (Sarah) Johnson of St. Peter's, MO, Richard A. (Cinda) Johnson of La Porte, IN, Steven (Mary) Johnson of Glendale, AZ; three daughters, Susan (Kenneth) Korinko of Oak Forest, IL, Roberta (Mike) Quattrocki of Alsip, IL, Linda (Alan) Ruehl of Ingleside, IL; she was a loving grandmother of fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-two great grandchildren. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Donald Schleyer, Ray Schleyer, and a sister, Charlotte. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Tuesday, March 24, 2015, from 9:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday March 24, 2015 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jonathan Bonomo officiating. Interment will follow at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, Indiana. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of Brentwood at LaPorte, as well as Asera Care Hospice.
