Dixie Voorhees

Mrs. Dixie A. Voorhees, 74, of 235 Darlington St., LaPorte, IN., died Monday, May 3, 2004, at 12:47 p.m. at the LaPorte Hospital. She was born April 18, 1930 to Lee and Edna Pfferle Lain and was a life long resident of the LaPorte area. Mrs. Voorhees had worked at the Athletic Shoe Factory and was a member of the Hamilton Grove Church of New Carlisle, IN. On October 28, 1948, in Urbana, IL., she married Issac Voorhees who died November 22, 2001. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters and three brothers. Surviving are three daughter, Edna Robert G. Litke of Three Oakes, MI., Dixie Greg Krueger of New Carlisle, IN., Melody Jack Oszuscik of LaPorte, IN.; three sons, Russell Teresa Voorhees of Orem, Utah, Victor Rose Voorhees of Greenwood FL., Dick Risa Voorhees of Three Oakes, MI.; seventeen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday, May 6, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. James Bouslog officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the service. Burial will in the Hamilton Cemetery, New Carlisle, IN.
