Diana Smeester

Diana Smeester July 12, 1935-February 19, 2015 Diana Smeester, 79, of La Porte, Indiana, died Thursday February 19, 2015 at her home. She was born July 12, 1935 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Don and Mary (Przednowek) Lee. Diana was a Stillwell High School graduate. She had worked 12 years for Howmet Corp., 17 years for American Home Foods, 6 years for Gateway and 3 years at Lewis Bakery. Diana loved to dance to Country Western music and she loved animals. She was a very sociable person, and loved to laugh. Diana would help anyone in need, she enjoyed life and worked very hard. Diana had been married to George Smeester for 11 years. She is survived by her three life long friends, Diann (John) Hartz, Robin (Donald) Huges, Randy (Janeen) Messer; step-daughter, Barbie Smeester of La Porte, IN; and several cousins. Diana was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Joan Lee, and step-son, Tim Smeester. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Tuesday, February 24, 2015, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Wednesday, February 25, 2015, from 10:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday February 25, 2015 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jeff Zigler officiating.
