Denise Daniel

Denise M. Daniel , 61, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away on Monday December 20, 2010 at her home in LaPorte. She was born September 30, 1949 in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of Richard A. Griffin and Shirley E. Zellers Griffin. Denise worked in the maintenance dept. for the LaPorte Co. Courthouse, until her retirement in 2001. She attended the Springville Free Methodist Church. Denise graduated from Elston High School in 1969. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and liked to shop. Denise especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her mother, Shirley E. Griffin of LaPorte, IN.; two sons - Richard Christy VanSchoyck of Morristown, TN, Keith VanSchoyck of Morristown, TN; six grandchildren - Gary, Derrick, Shelby, Casey, Daytona, and Gage; one brother - Glenn Susan Griffin of Postville, IA; three sisters - Cheri Terry Horn of Naples, FL, Dee Bombich of Michigan City, IN, and Joy Griffin of La Porte, IN. Denise was preceded in death by her father. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Thursday, December 23, 2010 10:00 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday December 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. David Hill officiating. Interment will follow at the Springville Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
