Delight Smith

Delight M. Smith, 66, of 7227 W. CR 400 N., Michigan City, IN., died Monday April 26, 2004, at 4:40 p.m. at her residence. She was born August 17, 1937, in LaPorte, IN. to Arthur and Dorothy Calburn Dinger, and had lived in this area most all of her life. Mrs. Smith retired in 1998 from Party Cookies after 12 years of service. She had also worked at K-Mart and Westway Products. She was a member of the Coolspring Twp. Vol. Fire Department Auxiliary. She did flower arrangements for special occasions and enjoyed fishing. On February 13, 1954, in LaPorte, IN., she married Dan Smith, who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters, Cindy Donald Young of Michigan City, IN., Christine Galen Dixon of Hickory Hills, IL., Laureen Fredenburg of Kingsbury, IN.; one son, David Chrissy Smith of Michigan City, IN.; and one brother, Danny Dinger of Georgia. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Carl Dinger. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte with Mr. Phil Muvich officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
