David Rudisell

David Rudisell, 68, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away suddenly Tuesday July 2, 2024 at Northwest Health-La Porte in La Porte, IN.

He was born July 20, 1955 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Kenneth Rudisell and Leona (Chambers) Rudisell.

A lifelong resident of the area, David graduated from Michigan City High School and worked as a Diesel Mechanic before starting his own lawn care business. He was a member of the Gold Prospectors of America and followed his passion of gold mining throughout his life. David loved fishing and enjoyed having family and friends over for cookouts and his famous homemade onion rings. On the weekends, he loved watching Cops on TV, flea marketing, and sitting on his porch watching the hummingbirds. David had a soft spot for animals, especially his two dogs, Maggie and Daisy, who preceded him in death. He cherished his family, especially his bonus grandchildren, and will be sadly missed by all.

David is survived by his mother, Leona Rudisell; and his other half as he referred to as his loving partner of 27 years, Julie Shinevar; two bonus daughters, Randi (Joe) Gormong of Terre Haute, IN, Jill (Chuck) Carnes of Rockford, MI; uncle, Ronald Chambers of La Porte, IN; brother, John Rudisell of IN; six grandchildren, Rachel, Madelyn, Rebekah, Amelia, Colin, Hadley and several cousins, including his best friend and cousin, Donald Chambers.

David was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Rudisell.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. The family has selected cremation, with plans for a Celebration of David's life at a later date.

Because of David's love for protecting animals, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the La Porte Small Animal Shelter, 2855 IN-2, La Porte, IN 46350.
