Mr. David L. Mumaw, 67, of 1111 Longwood Dr., LaPorte, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at 4:57 a.m. at LaPorte Hospital. He was born May 27, 1937, in Indianapolis to Ernest W. and Dorothy I. Fairfield Mumaw, and had lived in the LaPorte area since 1962, coming from Crawfordsville, Ind. Mr. Mumaw retired in 1999 as a supervisor with American Metal Products. On Nov. 2, 1957, in Indianapolis, he married Phyllis Thompson, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Margaret Sawyer of LaPorte; three sons, Lee Roberta, William Mary and Thomas Tina, all of LaPorte; six grandchildren, Conan and Erik Sawyer and Mathew, Andrew, Dylan and Bailey Mumaw; and one sister, Phyllis Badger of Greenfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Patricia Preston, Helen Francis Mumaw and Helen Florence Maser; and three brothers, Lowell, Ernest Jr. and James. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Hugh Smith officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.
