New Carlisle, Indiana

Darilyn Lowery, 75, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at home, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born February 10, 1949 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Frank Hartsaw and Wanda (Summit) Hartsaw, both who preceded her in death.

A lifelong resident of the area, Darilyn graduated from Rolling Prairie High School. On April 7, 1977 in La Porte, Indiana, Darilyn married the love of her life, Donnie Lowery, who survives. She and Don loved traveling across the United States, creating countless memories and experiencing the beauty each state had to offer. Her love for nature was reflected in her fondness for hiking and camping in their motor home. An enthusiast of unique covered bridges, Darilyn enjoyed attending the Covered Bridge Festival in Rockville, Indiana. A connoisseur of eclectic finds, she enjoyed garage sales and thrifting, always on the lookout for treasures that she could repurpose into something special. As a homemaker, Darilyn loved decorating her house and tending to her garden and landscaping. Her love for her family was undeniable, and she was very involved in her children's and grandchildren's lives, helping them through various school projects, attending band concerts, plays, and extracurricular activities, always the proudest cheerleader in the audience. Beyond her family, Darilyn had a soft spot for her dogs, finding companionship and delight in their presence. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Along with her beloved husband of 48 years, Darilyn is survived by two sons, Michael Bladecki of Three Oaks, MI, Todd Lowery of New Carlisle, IN; daughter, Trena (Eric) Flora of Buchanan, MI; brother, Frank "JR" (Stacie) Hartsaw of Fish Lake, IN; four grandchildren, Heather (David Walczak) Bladecki of La Porte, IN, Stephanie (Dominic Ledesma) Bladecki of Niles, IN, Larissa Perkins of Buchanan, MI, Ryder Crakes of Three Oaks, MI; four great-grandchildren, Hailie, Hannah, Ellana and Matteo.
