Dana Engle

Dana Engle November 8, 1926-September 15, 2015 Mrs. Dana Engle, 88, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away very peacefully with her family surrounding her at her home on Tuesday September 15, 2015. She was born November 8, 1926 in Totz, Kentucky, the daughter of James L. Lipscomb and Debbie J. (Simpson) Lipscomb. On April 8, 1944, in Keavy, KY, she married William Lloyd Engle who survives. She is also survived by her five children, Mary A. Mehaffie of La Porte, IN, James L. (Kay) Engle of La Porte, IN, and Robert W. (Brenda) Engle of Toledo, OH; Judith M. (John) Sholtis of Rolling Prairie, IN, April S. (Larry) Hammock of Jonesboro, GA; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, and one great great -grandchild; two brothers, Ralph B. Lipscomb of La Porte, IN, and Lewis D. Lipscomb of Salinas, CA. Dana was preceded in death by her parents, seven half-brothers, Charles A. Lipscomb, W. Earl Howard, Virgil P. Lipscomb, J. Roscoe Lipscomb, Ray Lipscomb, Lemuel Lipscomb, Loren Lipscomb and one half-sister, Ola Latham. Dana was a very faithful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a hospitable person, opening to others. She always had a sparkle in her eye. Dana was a very active member of the LaPorte Assembly of God for over 65 years, where she influenced many lives. Dana retired from the wax injection department at Howmet Corp in 1989 after 23 years of service. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, September 18, 2015, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and at the Assembly of God of LaPorte 244 E. Boyd Boulevard, LaPorte, IN. on Saturday, September 19, 2015, from 9:00 am until time of service. A life celebration will be held at the LaPorte Assembly of God Church, Saturday September 19, 2015 at 10:00 am with Pastor Larry Hammock, Pastor Benjamin Engle, Pastor Matthew Engle, and Pastor Jeff Hines, officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial Contributions may be made to the: LaPorte Assembly of God, 244 E.
