Dallas Merle Martin, 72, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022 surrounded by his family.

He was born April 17, 1950 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of George L. Martin and Josephine E (Hendrichs) Martin.

Dallas enjoyed spending time with his wife Barbara while she was in the garden. He was a skilled carpenter and a real artist at woodworking.  He enjoyed building furniture and toys for gifts to his family.

On May 27, 1989, at the Gazebo at Washington Park in Michigan City, he married Barbara who preceded him in death on October 18, 2022.

He is survived by his three sons, Dallas Matthew (Jennifer) Martin of Buchanan, MI, Jason  Martin of Kansas City, MO, Kenny Vogel of La Porte, IN; two daughters, Barbra (Art) Kaufman of La Porte, IN, Toni Zahrn of La Porte, IN; ten grandchildren, Caleb Martin, Jeffrey Martin, Dillon Litke, Brianna Martin, Leah Martin, Austin Vogel, Katrina (Justin Carpenter) Correia, Anecio (Elizabeth) Zahrn, Zakariah (Brandy Harshman) Zahrn, Darian (Kennedie Bellegante) Luther; and two great-grandchildren, Elliot and Leonidas.

Dallas was preceded in death by his wife Barbara and his parents.
