Dale Turner

Dale E. Turner, 65, of La Porte, Indiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday October 9, 2022 at Community Hospital in Munster, IN, with his sister, Mary and brother, Clay by his side.

He was born April 29, 1957 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Roscoe Turner and Mima (Stamper) Turner.

A lifelong resident of the area, Dale graduated from La Porte High in 1976 and immediately joined the United States Army as a Dental Specialist, serving for four years. After service he began a career as a tool and die maker for Teter, retiring in 2006.

Dale was a man who loved and surrounded himself with the Lord.  He was an active member at South Center United Baptist Church in Hamlet, IN, where he was involved in and led youth activities as well as fulfilling callings as a Deacon and Treasurer. He was a loving Uncle who enjoyed just hanging out with his nieces and nephews.  Dale would also take the boys and camp out in his sister's backyard.  He was an avid reader of his beloved Bible and Western novels.  Above all else, Dale devoted himself to God, read the scriptures, and prayed like no other.

He is survived by his three sisters, Mary (John) Hutchinson of La Porte, IN, Calla (Eric) Arnholtz of Union Mills, IN, Mima Jean (John) Eddy of Kingsford Heights, IN; two brothers, Clay (Dawn) Turner of New Carlisle, IN, Darial Turner of Indianapolis, IN and many nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roscoe, Paul and Carl Turner and sister, Victoria Lemley.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends on Thursday October 13, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. central.  A Celebration of Dale's Life will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., with  Pastor John White, officiating.  Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.
