Clarence Ohime

Mr. Clarence F. "Bud" Ohime, 92, of La Porte, passed away at 5:50 A.M. Friday July 3, 2009 at Golden Living Center-Countryside Nursing Home. Services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service with Rev. Helen Nusbaum officiating. Burial will follow at Pinhook Cemetery. He was born May 20, 1917 in La Porte County to the late Otto and Gertrude Hitz Ohime. Clarence went to Stillwell High School and worked as a farmer for 44 years on the C. L. Rhoade Farm in Pleasant Township. He enjoyed the La Porte County Fair, gardening, and watching IU basketball. He was married to Marguerite Eleanor Weber on March 30, 1946 in La Porte. She died March 18, 1966. Surviving are two sons, John Sandy of South Bend, David of LaPorte, two daughters Janice David Price of La Porte and Darlene of Union Mills; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, seven-step-great grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred of La Porte, Edith Willard Wakeman of Union Mills, Arlene Frobes of Northville, Mich., one sister-in-law, Hilda Ohime of La Porte and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one sister, Florence, and four brothers, Robert, Herbert, Harry and William.
