Clarence W Morrison November 30, 1934-August 29, 2014 Mr. Clarence W Morrison , 79, of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday August 29, 2014 at Millers Merry Manor in New Carlisle, IN. He was born November 30, 1934 in Elkhart, Indiana, the son of Enoch Morrison and Irene A. (Jackson) Morrison. Clarence worked as a carpenter for Carpenters Union Local #1485 and was a member for over 30 years. He was a member of Tracy United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, class president of the Mill Creek High School, coached little league baseball, and was Union Township Trustee. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, local fishing, driving his golf cart, and assisted in coordinating the La Porte County Fair. On January 22, 1955, in Tracy, IN, he married Joan Nelson Morrison who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Cindy McCoy of Hamlet, IN; three sons, Kalvin (Ann) Morrison of La Porte, IN, Rick A. Morrison of New Philadelphia, OH, Curt (Amy) Morrison of La Porte, IN; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents and son, Joe Morrison. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, September 5, 2014 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at the Tracy United Methodist Church., Saturday September 6, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Ann Dill and Rev. William C. Babb III officiating. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 noon until time of the service. Interment will follow at the Tracy Cemetery, Hamlet, Indiana.
