Chester Dreyer

Mr. Chester John Dreyer, age 91, of 1900 Andrew Ave., La Porte, Ind., died Thursday, October 13, 2005, at Fountainview Terrace in LaPorte, Ind. He was born Nov. 6, 1913 in Otis, IN. to the late Harry Rapp and the late Martha Dreyer Rapp, and has lived in the LaPorte area all of his life. Mr. Dreyer was employed by Indiana Molding & Frame. He was a veteran of US Army during WW II, He received the Purple Heart also received a Good Conduct Medal, 3 Bronze Stars, and Philippines Liberation Ribbon. He is also survived by his wife Mrs. Katherine "Kitty" Fry; Two Daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Warren Attar of La Porte, Ind., Mrs. Arleen Kent Reese of Plymouth, Ind.; One Son, Mr. Thomas Dreyer of La Porte, Ind.; One Sister, Harriet Young; One Sister-in-law- Mrs. Clara Fry of Michigan City, Ind.; One Brother-in-law- Mr. Ed Fry of Georgia; Six grandchildren, Mary Attar Tom Gaines, Joe Meredith Attar, Steve Vickie Attar, Maria Mark Lemert, Michelle Dan Sommers, Mike Kim Beiter; and Twelve great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by One Brother, and One Sister. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 12:00 PM Noon Monday, October 17, 2005 until time of the service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home at 12:30 PM Monday, October 17, 2005, Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Interment will be at Swan Lake Memorial Garden in Michigan City, Ind.
