Mrs. Charlotte Alberta Dinwiddie, 88, of San Diego, California, died Saturday February 28, 2009 at the San Carlos Villa in San Diego, CA. She was born July 19, 1920 in East Chicago, Indiana, the daughter of Theodore Gottlob Schaal and Elizabeth Clara Baumhardt Schaal. Charlotte had lived in the LaPorte area, for over fifty years. Charlotte was a homemaker, she was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, St. John Lutheran Church Circle #8 and the Walther League Chorus. On June 26, 1943, in East Chicago, IN, she married Albert Dinwiddie, who preceded her in death on June 18, 1996. She is survived by her two daughters, Dianne Ron Burger of Indianapolis, IN, Betty Robert Schaeffer of Rockford, IL, son, David Susan Dinwiddie of El Cajon, CA, Twelve Grandchildren, Fifteen Great-grandchildren, and one brother, Donald J. Schaal of Munster, IN. Charlotte was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, Albert Dinwiddie and one brother. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Saturday, March 7, 2009 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. Funeral Services will be held at the Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Robert B. Schaeffer of Rockford, IL officiating. Burial will follow in the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joni and Friends International Disability CenterP.O.
