Charles Zigler

Mr. Charles M. Zigler, 82, of 211 Holly Drive, Walkerton, IN., passed away, Monday, January 10, 2005 at LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte, IN. He was born, January 21, 1922 in South Bend, Indiana to Iva Finkenbinder and Charles H. Zigler, who have preceded him in death. He had lived in the LaPorte area, since 1985, coming from Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Zigler, was member of the American Legion Post #400 of Fish Lake, IN., Veteran of US Army during WW II. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching his grandchildren play ball and loved dogs. On December 18, 1992 in LaPorte, IN., he married Dorothy Brownlee, who preceded March 29, 2000. Surviving are three sons; Charlie Kathy Zigler of Chicago, IL., Tim Jade Zigler of Chicago, IL., Chester Cathy Zigler of Chicago, IL.; one step-daughter, Sharla Phillip Bluhm of LaPorte, IN.,; four brothers, Jim Zigler of South Bend, IN., Bob Zigler of South Bend, IN., Bill Zigler of South Bend, IN., Tom Virginia Zigler of Mishawaka, IN.; one sister, Katherine Jewart of South Bend, IN.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and three brothers and three sisters. A funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, IN. with Rev. Ronald Devenport officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm ? 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at Haverstock Funeral Home and from 8:00 am Wednesday, until time of service. Burial will be in the Hanna Cemetery, Hanna, IN.
