Charles Daniel Lindsley, 81, of Koontz Lake, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born May 10, 1942 in rural St. Joseph County, IN, the son of Daniel Lindsley and Irma (Wolff) Lindsley.

Charles, a lifelong resident of the surrounding area, served in the Army National Guard and retired as a reservist in 1999. He also worked for Kingsbury Casting. Charles was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church and an avid junk collector. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, and music,  listening to The Rolling Stones, Randy Travis, Vince Gill and Alabama, to name a few. He always had several pairs of cowboy boots and cowboy hats, which he loved showing off. Charles enjoyed a good time with both his family and friends and will indeed be missed.

He is survived by his son, Chuck (Amy) Lindsley of Grovetown, IN; two daughters, Lisa (Donald) Patrick of Grovertown, IN, Candace Lindsley of La Porte, IN; three brothers, Kenny (Sherry) Lindsley of Donaldson, IN, Lester (Irene) Lindsley of La Porte, IN, Richard Lindsley of Plymouth, IN; sister, Katie (Todd) Davis of Walkerton, IN; grandchildren Jacy Lindsley, Tayler Patrick, Jennifer Patrick, Zachery Jared, Sydney Jared and 5 great-grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Rose Marie Simon; second wife, Cheryl Cowgill; brother, John Lindsley; sisters, Ethel McSurely, Wanda Parrish, Vada Davis and Karen Lindsley.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends for a viewing on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., with military honors rendered at 4:00 p.m.  Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Charles' name to the family in care of Haverstock Funeral Home.
